D&D 30 Day Challenge: Day 17 – Favorite Monster (Animal/Insect/Arachnid)

Another favorite monster for today. This time it’s the favorite animal, insect or arachnid. However, these are not monster types in 5th Edition, yet. So here’s what I’m going to do. I’ll be choosing from the beasts and monstrosities for the first two and for the arachnid I’ll just choose one of the spiders. Now that I have set my rules, let’s begin!

So for my favorite animal I’ll go with the Triceratops. I know the monster pool for this one is huge and there are many fiercer monsters. But the Triceratops is one of my favorite dinosaurs and it’s my only chance to pick it. This is why I can’t not choose it.

Now it’s time for the insect! For this one I chose the Ankheg. They remind me of the Silithid from World of Warcraft. Someone could make an Ankheg empire just like the Silithid one. Maybe I’ll do it. As I’ve mentioned, my homebrew is a desert so it could fit well.

And last but not least, the arachnid. The Phase Spider is an easy pick. I really like the fact that it can shift from the Material Plane to the Ethereal Plane, making it a dangerous and unpredictable predator. And, also, it’s white and blue.

And I’m done. Tomorrow I’ll be talking about my favorite planar being.

So until then, have fun!
